Yesterday we had an ultrasound on the fancy 3-D machine. Everything looks good so far–the babies have healthy looking parts, no visible defects. We were even able to tell which one was the boy and which was the girl.

It’s not the clearest picture in the world, but today’s ultrasound looked better on the monitor.  We could clearly see the heartbeats of both babies, and one of them squirmed a little bit.  They’re each about the size of a large grape right now.

The third ultrasound earlier this week confirmed two good-looking heartbeats. And to commemorate the event, my wife has been violently ill non-stop ever since.

Today we had our first ultrasound since the insertion. The image shows both embryos have implanted. We could even see a bit of a heartbeat in the one on the right, which is surprising because it’s about a week early to be seeing that kind of activity.
