A story about why I love her.

“Tell me my story,” I said as we were leaving the store.

The cold night air greeted us as we stepped out of the brightly lit store and into the parking lot. There was no moon in the sky and it had become incredibly dark since we had started shopping.

What’s new?

Not much.

I’ve been asked why the site has had no updates in a while, and that’s why. There’s not much to report. I’ve been really busy with work, everyone in that house has been sick with nasty colds, and I just haven’t had anything interesting to say.

Someone is in trouble.

Yes, this is another post about my daughter talking. My son talks too, but she seems to do everything first.

So tonight my wife is trying to put my daughter’s shoes on, and the little munchkin keeps struggling. “Hold still,” says the wife, “It’s so hard to get your shoes on your squirming little feet. Good god!”

Then you have to teach it to be quiet.

Our kids are talking a lot these days. A lot of their speech is combined with sign language that we began teaching them when they were newborns, and now at almost 19 months they’re picking it up like crazy. They’ve been talking for a while now in single-word statements, but lately their vocabulary has really gathered momentum. We’ve been writing down things as they say them, and so far they know over 50 words and signs. I have to give a lot of credit to the signing — it really gave them an early aptitude for language that I believe they might not have had otherwise.

My Fellow Americans…

Today my daughter pointed to Bill Clinton’s autobiography in the bookcase and said “Da Da!”

I think it’s time to start dyeing my hair.
