On Thursday Dec 27th, 2007, the INDIE MUSIC SHOW presents Bruce Goldish, Lisa Goe, Nathan McEuen, Delaney Gibson, Fly To Blue, Ukulele Jim (hey, that’s me), Forgotten Teardrops, and Christina Grimm.
Well, here’s the performance. This was recorded way back in July, which was 10 pounds and a beard ago (I’ve since lost both). I’ve never performed on television before, so I was nervous as hell and it kinda shows.

I recently ordered a new ukulele (yes, another one) (yes, I have a problem) and it arrived from Hawaii last weekend. It’s a Pono made of curly koa and it’s a great little player with a nice, warm sound.
I took it out of the case and started playing it, just goofing around really, and suddenly this song began pouring out of me. I had the whole thing written in a matter of minutes. I’m starting to think maybe the song came with the ukulele, or the ukulele wrote it and I’m just channeling it. Anyway, I recorded it tonight and I think it came out okay.
Like all my songs, this was recorded on a Zoom H4 and then mastered in Cubase LE. In addition to the Pono I’m also playing a no-name longneck zebrawood uke on this one.
Over the weekend I went to the Southern California Ukulele Festival and it inspired me to finish writing a song that had been buzzing around in my head for a while. It’s called “Miss Mischief”.
The picture above is of one of the ukuleles I picked up at the show. It’s a neat little axe with an inlay of a pretty island scene made out of abalone or some other shiny substance.
Here’s a short little video of David Wachter and I jamming at San Diego Comic Con earlier this summer. I just found this; I thought it had been accidentally deleted.
And here’s another short one from Comic Con last year featuring Nat Purcell:

Got up super early today. But it's a good thing. I need to get back in the habit of being an early riser, but I just ain't a morning guy. Posted by Jim23 hours ago over at twitter.com)
